There are four hospitals for specialized treatment of cancer in Bangladesh.
Breast cancer treatment is going on in many government and private hospitals including Bangladesh Cancer Institute.
However, some private and some large government hospitals have one cancer unit but the number of cancer specialists in Bangladesh is less than one and a half.
On the other hand, the treatment of cancer in Bangladesh is inadequate on the one hand and quite expensive in the long run on the other.
As a result, if someone in the family gets cancer, it brings a kind of disaster on that family.
At this time, the psychological support of the people around, including family and friends, helps a patient to recover faster, which women are less likely to get.
Officially, the cost of diagnosing and curing breast cancer depends on the patient’s condition from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh.
The cost is even higher in private hospitals.
However, Doctors says that the cost of treatment depends on the patient’s physical condition. In that case the expenditure can be planned if identified at an early stage.
