The Cabinet Secretary said that the epidemic corona vaccine will be given to the people free of cost. The virtual meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Later, the cabinet secretary announced the decision at a press conference at the secretariat.
He said the government was buying 30 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine invented by Oxford’s AstraZeneca, which would be given to people for free. In addition, according to the protocol of the World Health Organization, it will be determined who will get this vaccine first.

The cabinet secretary said Tk 735 crore 8 lakh 50 thousand has been allocated for the purchase of this vaccine. The government will buy three crore vaccines, but people will get them for free.
It may be mentioned that a few days ago, the government had informed that Bangladesh would buy 30 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine invented by Oxford-AstraZeneca.
The government of Bangladesh, Seram Institute India and Beximco Pharmaceuticals have already signed an agreement for this vaccine.
