Walton is working towards the target of exporting 1 million televisions (TVs) in the world market. The domestic brand has exported televisions with the tag ‘Made in Bangladesh’ to 25 countries of the world to meet the demand of the country. Recently, Walton has been exporting to various European countries including Greece, Poland, Denmark, Croatia, Ireland, Germany as well as expanding the market. Television will soon be exported to Spain and Italy, said Engineer Mostafa Nahid Hossain, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited (Television). He said that despite the Corona epidemic, the demand for Walton TV in foreign markets has increased 10 times. In a recent interview, Kaler Kantho talked about various aspects of television production.
Walton first entered the television market in 1997 by importing CRT TVs. Later, to meet the growing demand of the country, it started commercial production of television in the country by setting up its own factory in 2006, which is gradually increasing in line with the world through the addition of advanced technology. Walton’s TV factory at Chandra in Gazipur has a production capacity of 12 lakh televisions. Last year, the company had a total production of seven lakh units.
Engineer Mostafa Nahid Hossain said, “Walton is moving forward with the aim of making Bangladesh known to the world through the export of television.” We are currently working on the target of exporting one million units of television. This will bring a lot of foreign currency to the country. In addition, we are working on a plan to make Walton one of the top five brands in the world by bringing world-class television to every home in the country at low cost in the future.
Asked about their market share in the TV market, the top Walton TV official said, “Walton now has about 36 per cent market share in television in Bangladesh. Last year, Walton TV’s sales increased by about 75 percent. The demand for Walton Television is also increasing rapidly in the overseas market. Compared to last year, the demand for our TV in the international market has increased 10 times. ‘
“Even during the Corona epidemic, there was no significant change in TV sales,” he said. So hopefully, our growth rate will remain the same as last year. We have plans to bring 75 and 75 inch TVs next year.
At present, Walton has about 36 models of televisions of different sizes in the national and international market. These televisions are basic, smart, smart voice control and priced from a minimum of Rs 8,900 to a maximum of Rs 99,900. Recently, Walton has introduced several new models of TVs in the market, such as Smart Voice Control, Android, Glass TV, FourK LED TV.
Asked about the uniqueness of Walton Television, Engineer Mostafa Nahid Hossain said, “Walton Television is equipped with Artificial Intelligence, through which the user can fully control the television in Bengali and English language commands.” The TV’s backlight unit has a KSF coated LED bar, which enhances the display color seven times. Walton TVs use N45 / N47 graded magnet speakers, which are capable of accurately controlling identical, midrange and highrange bases. Dynamic Range Compression (DRC) ensures swiftness and swiftflow, and electroacoustic speaker design with cross talk sound technology allows you to enjoy the actual bit and rhythm of sound. Walton televisions have high voltage protection and are 35 percent more energy efficient.
He said, ‘Walton is the only listed partner of Google Android TV in Bangladesh and the first Dolby licensed manufacturing television. Starting next year, we will be launching various advanced technology sound systems, including Dolby Sound Bar. ‘
Mostafa Nahid Hossain said, ‘Walton has the largest R&D (research and development) unit in the country. So we are bringing innovative products here with the help of local engineers. We are producing TVs in our own factory that are suitable for the domestic demand, which is capable of popularity. ‘
He said that while other brands make TVs keeping in mind the whole continent, Walton makes the TVs keeping in mind the environment of Bangladesh. Walton’s R&D team works on which area has the highest and lowest voltage. Walton made TVs by researching these data while manufacturing.
The CEO of Walton Hi-Tech (Television) said that television is no longer just entertainment but also a great medium of information and education. Zoom meetings are also being held on TV starting from classes on Corona epidemic. Therefore, more policy support is needed for the production of television in the country. In particular, if at least 30 percent cash assistance is given to exports, television exports will increase a lot.
Walton has the facility to buy any model of television in installments and credit cards. EMI facility with zero percent interest for up to 12 months if you buy a TV with a credit card. Interest free up to six months in installments. Walton Television has a four-year panel guarantee for after-sales service. Two year warranty on motherboard and hardware. In addition, there is up to five years of after-sales service. Walton’s TV exchange fair is going on all over the country. Under this, many customers across the country have bought Walton’s new LED TV instead of the old moving and stationary TV of different brands, said Mostafa Nahid Hossain.
