The coronavirus vaccine at Oxford University, produced by the Serum Institute of India, has been accused of causing serious side effects. A volunteer in Chennai has demanded Rs 5 crore, citing side effects of the experimental use of the vaccine. However, the serum institute of India has rejected this claim. This has been reported in NDTV news.
The volunteer’s wife said her husband had lost his creativity due to the side effects of the vaccine. She alleges that her husband developed serious side effects after the experimental application of the Oxford vaccine.
Sending a legal notice to the Seram Institute on November 21, the victim said his covishield vaccine had left his nervous system useless, he had lost his memory and his behavior had changed. And for this reason also demands compensation.
In response, the serum institute of India said in a statement that the allegations were made to tarnish the company’s image. They are preparing to file a defamation suit worth Rs 100 crore against the complainant who took part in the ticker trial.
The company claimed that independent investigators from the Data and Safety Monitoring Board of India and the Ethics Committee had stated that the physical difficulties of the complainant were not a side effect of the vaccine.
“We want to make it clear that the vaccine will not be mass-administered until there is definite evidence of safety and immunity,” the statement said.
