The quarrel with wife is very common in married life. But what an Italian man did after a fight, perhaps no one could have imagined. To control his anger, he walked 280 miles, not one or two miles. He might have gone further if the police had not caught him for breaking the country’s strict lockdown.

The 48-year-old lives in Como, in northern Italy, bordering Switzerland, according to the UK’s Independent newspaper. From there the man walked to the town of Fano to the south. Fano is a small town on the Adriatic coast. Its distance from Como is about 280 miles.

Strict lockdown rules remain in place in Italy due to coronavirus infections. Police officers arrested him last Friday for violating that rule. But at first the officials could not believe that he had walked so far. He later went to verify his name and found that his wife had informed the police about his disappearance a week ago.

According to Italian media reports, the identity of the man has not been revealed. He was numb in the winter. Was very tired. However, he admitted that he had never imagined that he would walk so far to cool his head. The man said he ate more food from strangers during the “historic” trip. He walks an average of 40 miles a day.

According to a Fano newspaper, his wife came to Fano to find him. He then told police they had an argument at their home in Como a week ago. He has been missing ever since. The woman also said she had to pay a 400-euro fine for breaking the lockdown.

The man is now known as “Italy’s Forrest Gump” on social media.
