How to write an email Cover Letter to a professor for research and scholarship

Make an ideal cover letter template to write a professor. You are writing this letter to convince a person so first think yourself if others wrote to you then how you would convinced. Do not miss any important thing about you in this letter. If your professor become happy by getting your email only then he/she will take further steps. Always remember that professor interest and research area varies that is why do not use same cover letter for approaching them. You are just preparing this template as you do not late to send them email. The cover letter should not be so long and obviously states clear information about your needs to a professor. Before writing a cover letter keep in mind that professors have not enough time to read your cover letter fully. They just take a look and if find any interest in you then they read full.
At first 1 to 2 line of the cover letter write about who you are. Then at next 3 to 4 line write the reason of sending this email and mention the recent research work of the professor that fascinated you most. Do not write voluminous about the professor otherwise you cannot get reply. For writing this part you need to do well research about the professor. It is not enough to see the biography of the professor from the institute website. You should visit the Google scholar for finding the publications of the professor and also visit the current research project website if any. Try to take a good idea about the professor so that you become able to write well.
 
At next para, write your academic and professional works that similar with professor experience in 2 to 3 line. Also mention your CGPA and test scores in 1 and 2 lines. If you have any research experience and publications put those as hyperlink to focus well. 

At the end, ask about research fund availability and if any opportunity available in his/her research team for you. For closing the letter thank the professor for his time and mention your identity.
