ADB Japan Scholarship Program

The Asian Development Bank/Japan Scholarship Program offers postgraduate scholarships to its participating academic institution.
 
Study level and University
The scholarship offer 150 postgraduate scholarships a year for studies in economics, management, science and technology and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions. The scholarship also provide fund for PhD studies.  
 
Eligibility
You need to meet the following criteria for applying the scholarship-
  • Be accepted for an admission to an approved Masters or PhD course at a participating academic institution. 
  • Candidates should be 35 years old or younger and a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with a superior academic record. 
  • Scholars should return to their home country after completion of study to contribute to its economic and social development.
Finance
The scholarship provides full tuition fees, a monthly allowance for expenses, research grants, housing, books and instructional materials, medical insurance and travel. 

Eligible country

ADB Countries and Regions are eligible to apply for this program. 

Opening and closing date
The application will only be available online from mid February to March every year.
 
Application procedure
Separate application to ADB is not necessary. Applicants should indicate to the academic institution that they are applying for admission and that they would like to be considered for the ADB-JSP Scholarship. The completed institution application form and required documentation, including the ADB-JSP application sheet form, should be submitted to the academic institution.
