According to the World Health Organization, miscarriages have become a very common occurrence in the world before the baby is full. Abortions occur in 10-15 percent of every 100 pregnant women.
If a baby dies during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy, it is called miscarriage. Usually three out of every four abortions occur at this time. In many cases abortion may occur later.
Many times women get abortions automatically. In many cases, abortion is done at the will of the parents due to health or any other reason.
Abortion rates vary from country to country. However, at least 20 million babies die each year between eight and 10 weeks of gestation.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says much of this death can be prevented with timely action.
Miscarriage in Bangladesh
According to a 2014 survey of Bangladesh, spontaneous abortions occur in at least 11 lakh 94 thousand children every year. In other words, the number of abortions per day is 3,261.
Although abortion is prohibited under Bangladeshi law. However, it has been said that abortion can be done if the mother’s life needs to be saved.
Doctors say abortions are often recommended if there is a risk to the mother’s health. Many times abortion also happens automatically due to lifestyle, illness, food or other reasons.
But it can be largely avoided with caution and medical advice from the start.
Why is ‘miscarriage’?
“Miscarriage can happen for many reasons. Some of the causes can be identified. Many times the child is lost, but the cause is not understood.
However, in most cases, physicians have found the reasons behind miscarriage:
- Traumatic birth defects such as if the fetus gets too many or too few chromosomes during pregnancy travel then the fetus doesn’t form properly. This can lead to miscarriage. The reason is not yet known to scientists. Abortion can occur if there is a defect in the structure of the placenta or placenta which supplies blood from the mother’s body to the baby’s body.
- Maternal illnesses such as diabetes, blood pressure, kidney problems. With overactive thyroid gland or underactive thyroid gland.
- Maternal infections such as rubella, HIV, gonorrhea, syphilis, malaria. Water in the womb begins to break down due to infection.
- If the mother’s age is between 35-39 years, then two out of every 10 people are likely to have miscarriage. At the age of 45, five out of 10 people are at risk of miscarriage.
- Hormonal problems
- Mom works hard or travels extra
- Cigarettes, alcohol or drugs or taking a lot of caffeine
- Uterine defect, abnormal shape, tumor, in reverse position
- The size of the ovaries is larger than normal
- The size of the uterus remains extremely small, where the baby cannot grow
- Conceive multiple babies simultaneously
- Weakening or opening of the cervix
- Genetic history of miscarriage of mother, sister or close relative
- Toxic foods and drugs
- Obesity or excess fat, weight
What are the symptoms of miscarriage?
If there is any white discharge or bleeding for a few days during pregnancy, you need to contact a doctor. Then we will do some experiments to see what is the condition of the baby inside the womb. If there is any problem then it can be identified and action can be taken.
If there is pain in the abdomen or waist, the baby should be consulted even if the movement is reduced.
If you have a history of spontaneous abortion in your family or in your own past, you need to be more careful. At the same time, the factors that create the risk of miscarriage should be avoided.
If they have had an abortion before, they need to be under the care of a regular doctor. It is then understood that the chances of miscarriage of this child. If he has diabetes, obesity, kidney disease or high blood pressure, he should be kept under control.
Should I go to the hospital for miscarriage or abortion?
Doctors say gynecologists from any hospital should be consulted for an abortion if there is a risk to the health of the mother or baby.
A lot of times you get miscarried. Many times the doctor can give the medicine if he thinks it is necessary. Sometimes it happens that the child does not come out even after death. Something is out again, something is inside. Many times the solution is in medicine, and many times the doctor may have to perform the surgery.
The risk of motherhood is much lower if an abortion is performed between eight and 10 weeks of gestation. In most cases this can be done with medication.
However, even if miscarriage or abortion is performed, it takes one to two months for the woman to recover completely. But many times they are emotionally damaged. If left untreated, it can lead to chronic depression.
How many days after the abortion can the child be taken again?
The doctor can give advice by analyzing his physical condition, history beforehand.
However, to avoid accidents again from the beginning of the second pregnancy should be under the supervision of a specialist doctor.
Some misconceptions about abortion
According to the NHS, many women around the world have misconceptions about abortion, which have no basis.
- Excitement or depression: For example, abortion has nothing to do with the mother’s emotional state during pregnancy. That is, if she is agitated or depressed at that time, it does not affect the pregnancy.
- Fear: Abortion does not happen even if you are suddenly scared or startled during pregnancy.
- Elevator or ladder: There is no problem in using elevator or ladder during pregnancy.
- Physical Exercise: There is no barrier to physical exercise during pregnancy. However, how much and how to exercise, it should be discussed with the doctor.
- Work: Abortion has nothing to do with working during pregnancy.
- Sexuality: There is no barrier to sexual intercourse during pregnancy.
- Air travel: There are no restrictions on air travel during pregnancy.
- Spicy foods: There is no liability for spicy foods behind abortion. However, it is better to consult your doctor about food during pregnancy.
Can I have chance of another miscarriage?
Once someone is miscarried, it will happen again and again, there is no such thing. Most women have miscarriages once, but the next time they have a healthy baby.
It is possible to prevent miscarriage in most cases by identifying the causes of miscarriage for the first time and taking precautions.
According to the NHS, one in every 100 women who have had miscarriages have recurred miscarriages.
