The first six months
From the first day of birth until the age of six months, the baby must be breastfed. Breast milk is enough for the physical and mental development of the baby. After six months, the baby needs to be given extra food beside of breast milk. But keep remember that till 9 months breast milk is still the main nutrition source for the baby. Try to feed the frequently (2 hours interval) to ensure that your baby get enough milk. Usually the baby needs to be fed every three hours. Six months later

Semolina can be given for first introduction as extra meals. If it does not cause any discomfort to the baby, then it is necessary to start mashed Khichdi or khichuri slowly from the semolina. It should not be forgotten that in addition to extra food, breast milk should also be continued, which is the prime source of baby protein.
It is not right to give extra sugar in baby food in any way. Adequate care should be taken regarding salts, spices and oils.
Nine months later
A 9 to 11 month old baby need solid food three to four times a day, along with healthy snacks. Now you can start with small grains instead of puree the food. Even your baby can start eating on his own with his fingers at this time. Still continue to breastfeed him as like before. Make sure that the baby eats nutritious food every time.
The first Khichdi or khichuri
Baby khichuri can be made with rice, pulses and oil first. Gradually add soft vegetables like carrots, potatoes, papaya etc. The baby accustomed to khichuri can be started feeding fish-meat slowly. Keep your baby in observation so that any new food is not creating any allergies conditions. If you see any problem with the baby with any food then stop it immediately and again try it after few days.
Protein food
To meet the demand for protein, egg, fish, chicken, chicken soup, lentil water, etc. can be given with soft forks.
Fruit
Fruits usually include soft ripe bananas, ripe mangoes and orange juice. However, it is not right to eat extra fruit or many fruits at once. In this case it is better to give him any one fruit in a day to understand that it is not creating any side effects.
