The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)of US has identified six new symptoms of coronavirus infection. Six new symptoms have been added to the CDC guidelines by observing coronavirus infected patients.
The CDC says six new symptoms can appear within 2 to 14 days of being infected with the coronavirus. These are: chills, frequent shivering, muscle aches, headaches, sore throats, loss of taste and sense of smell.
Earlier, the CDC guidelines mentioned shortness of breath, cough and fever as symptoms of COVID-19.
According to a report in the Washington Post, each of the patients who have been considered asymptomatic so far has these six symptoms in their bodies. As a result, the new guidelines will make it easier to identify and treat victims.
Mario Ramirez, a former acting director of the U.S. Office of Pandemic and Emerging Threats, said the symptoms of the new disease may change over time.
“We can responsibly say that “these are the symptoms of the six COVID-19,” he said.
The United States is the world’s worst-hit country by the Corona pandemic. As of Thursday, more than 1.06 Million people in the country have been affected by Corona. Physicians there are able to learn in detail about the experiences of many patients, observing them.
Ramirez said the CDC has confirmed six new symptoms by monitoring local patients, as well as reports of infections in other countries.
Talking to patients over the past few weeks, doctors have learned about these new symptoms.
A study of COVID-19 sufferers in Europe found that 85.6 to 88 percent of patients reported loss of taste and sense of smell.
Although not listed on the CDC website, another common symptom of COVID-19 sufferers is fatigue. Fatigue has been observed in most of the victims.
On the other hand, U.S. physicians have observed complications such as blood clots in some patients. They reported bleeding in the lungs of many patients. Many have had a stroke because of a blood clot.
“We are aware of a variety of symptoms,” Ramirez said. However, not all of them can be listed. In order to determine who needs to be tested for COVID-19, one must be sure of the symptoms by selecting the test. The CDC reported 7 new symptoms of corona
Apart from this, the CDC is monitoring a few more symptoms, he said. These are – shortness of breath, palpitations and blue lips.
