Subject: Application for Graduate Research Assistantship (MS).

With reference to your calling for MS Graduate Research Assistantship on managing soil salinity with cover crops, I express my keen interest for the position. I have acquired my Graduation in Agriculture form “University Name” and Masters in Disaster Management from “University Name”, Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is a disaster prone country and the coastal regions are attacked by frequent disaster which create salinity problem causing unlimited loss to farmers. Keeping this in mind, I am highly motivated to work for managing soil salinity and contain the situation. I performed a number of research on soil and seed borne fungi, fungal pathogens and also climate change issues. During Graduation, I have used bio-control agent and botanical extracts as biologically based and environmentally safe alternatives against seed borne and soil borne fungal pathogens. I have also received extended course on soil science, soil fertility, soil survey and soil physics.

I have a number of publications in peer reviewed journals and writings in daily English newspapers. After completion of my Master degree I have performed some research of my own interest. At present I am involved with Save the Children International where I have done an extended research surrounding poor people’s livelihood. I also do freelancing writings for newspapers, blogs etc. I am hopeful that you will look favorably upon my application by recognizing my enthusiasm. I look forward to learning more about this opportunity!

Sincerely
