About YES Programme

The YES program was established in October 2002. The scholarship was named after Senator Edward M. Kennedy and Senator Richard Lugar. The purpose of the program is to connect with everyone on the basis of mutual interest and to respect each other as individual by eliminating misconceptions based on individual nationality or ethnic origin. Funded by the United States Department of State, the program provides one-year scholarships and study opportunities in the United States. Students live with the host family, attend high school, learn about American society and values, gain leadership skills, and help educate Americans about their country and culture.

There are more than 12,000 alumni from more than 40 countries under the YES program. This program was started in 2003 in Bangladesh. Since then, more than 392 Bangladeshi students have gone to the United States under the program. They are all part of the Yes Alumni Network. International Education and Resource Network-Bangladesh supports the YES program in Bangladesh. The program provides opportunities for young pioneers to engage in leadership education, civil society regulation, and community service, thereby encouraging young people to create ideas, values, and experiences.
