What is research?
Research seeks answer of questions, solve problems and discover new things by using systematic methods. Research types varies depending on its purpose, time, data collection technique and use. Research method varies depending on its various types. To conduct a research one need to follow a systematic method and research format. General points that is needed to conduct a research has been mentioned here-
The cover page design vary from institution to institution. However, the cover page need to be simpler. Mention the title of the research, institution name, roll number, academic year, submission date, logo of the institution etc in this page.
Content page
Create a content page by point out all headings, subheadings, table, box, chart and figures of the research with pages numbers. If you have multiple table or figure in your research the present those at separate table. Present all the important subheadings of main headings here so that your instructor can find destination page easily.
Acknowledgement
This part express gratitude to all the people who helped you during conducting the research. Mention all the individuals and organizations whose immense indebtedness brought success in your research. Express your appreciation and deepest sense of gratitude to all of them in this section.
Abstract
The abstract reflect your full research context as a precise summary. Try to limit the abstract of your research between half to one page. Mention your research objective, design, methodology, key result and significance of the research very precisely in this section.
Introduction
Introduction reflects the significance and background of your research. You can part the introduction in three sections are background, rationale of the study and objective of the research. Always state the research objective very clearly and to the point. If the research holds multiple objective then mention those by listing.
Review of Literature
This portion tells about what is new in your research and also how your research relevant with others by citing the previous scholarly articles review. For stating the scholarly articles mention the author last name and year of publication. For example, you can start the line by saying that “Sanderson (2000) opined that…” In case of multiple authors mention the first author last name and also add et al. with the name. For example, in case of multiple authors you can say that “Alamgir et al. (2009) studied on….”.
Research Methodology
Research design and methodology is heart of a research. Before conducting any research you should develop a well-structured design. State clearly about the research methods you have designed in this section. For example if your research is built on any equation or framework then mention those with reference. If your research is quantitative in type then the mention that how you have calculated the sample size, selected the target population, prepared the questionnaire and analyzed the data. You can also part the methodology section into study area, study design, data source, variable and indicators and data analysis etc. For example you can show your research sample size by following this table-
Findings and Discussions
Mention the findings or results by way of table, figure or chart and discuss those in view of that. During discussion time also mention the previous scholarly articles results that similar to your findings. Try to establish your result by giving best logics. You can also put limitation of the study at the end of this section.
Conclusion and Recommendation
In this section, mention the research significance, result effectiveness and also explore how the research findings can contribute in future works. For example you can start the concluding part by saying that “The findings of the study provide an overview of the….”. Suggest recommendations from your own perspective that you have discovered during conducting the research.
References
Reference style varies in format. Generally references carries authors’ name, published year, title of the article, journal name, volume and issue number, page number and location.
