Christina and Alan MacDonald Graduate Scholarship
Overview
LSE is offering the Alan and Christina Graduate Scholarship. This scholarship support students in their academic pursuits. LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science) offers a range of different programmes, from undergraduate and graduate study, to executive education, distance learning, language study, summer school and study abroad options. The school offer Christina and Alan MacDonald Graduate Scholarship for Graduate students.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Residency: Must be a UK resident.
- Programme: Must be enrolled in a one-year taught master’s programme within one of the following departments:
- Department of Anthropology, Department of Management, Department of Methodology, Department of Statistics
Study University, level and Subjects:
The scholarship is available for a one-year taught master’s programme in any subject in London School of Economics, UK

Finance:
There is one award of approximately £5,000 available.
Eligible country:
Burma, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam
Deadline of Application: 5pm UK time on 26 April 2018.

How to Apply for a Scholarship at LSE
The application process for graduate study financial support at LSE involves several steps. It’s important to note that the Graduate Financial Support Application is currently closed. It is scheduled to open on 13 November 2024 for applicants seeking funding for the 2025 entry.
Application Process
- Submit Your Application for Admission:
Start by applying for admission to an LSE graduate program. Once your application is submitted, you will gain access to the Graduate Applicant Portal. - Access the Graduate Financial Support Application:
In the Graduate Applicant Portal, you will find a link to the Graduate Financial Support Application. This application is necessary to be considered for scholarships. - Complete the Application:
Fill out the Graduate Financial Support Application. The information provided will be used to assess your eligibility for the Graduate Support Scheme. - Personal Statement:
If you complete the personal statement section of the application, you will also be considered for any additional scholarships for which you may be eligible. There is no need to submit separate applications for each scholarship. - Financial Information:
Your financial information will not be considered as part of your admission application to LSE.
Important Deadlines
- Application Submission Deadline:
The deadline for submitting the Graduate Financial Support Application for students starting in the 2025/26 academic year is 24 April 2025 (17:00 UK time). - Conditions for Consideration:
To be considered for funding, you must meet the following conditions by the deadline: - Receive a conditional or unconditional offer of study at LSE.
- Successfully submit a Graduate Financial Support Application.
Notification of Decisions
- After submitting your application, you can expect a decision on your eligibility for the Graduate Support Scheme within 24 hours.
- The decision will be available in the Graduate Application Portal.
- Successful applicants for scholarships will be notified throughout May, June, and July 2025. Make sure to add ‘lse.ac.uk’ to your email account’s safe senders list to avoid missing notifications.
If you do not receive a response by the end of July, it means your scholarship application has not been successful.
