While in the scorching heat of summer we feel thirsty all day long, in winter we don’t feel very thirsty. As a result, even if you drink sufficient amount of water or syrup during other times of the year, its amount decreases a lot in winter. Apart from this, tea or coffee is drunk many times throughout the day to keep the body warm in winter.

Constipation is more common in winter than at other times due to drinking less water, drinking too much tea or coffee, less exercise or eating less fiber-rich foods. Stomach is not cleaned properly, and as a result, stomach gas problem persists. Apart from this, problems like reluctance or aversion to food and drink also occur.

What to eat every day to avoid constipation-

Dates

Dates are a fruit rich in nutrients and full of natural fiber. Apart from this, dates are sweet and cooling in nature. Dates can be the best food for those suffering from constipation, hyper acidity, joint pain, hair fall or low energy. Eat 2-3 soaked dates in lukewarm water every morning on an empty stomach. Dates contain certain nutrients that aid in digestion and prevent constipation. Sometimes it is also very beneficial for diarrhea.

Fenugreek seeds

One teaspoon of fenugreek seeds can be soaked in water overnight and eaten on an empty stomach the next morning. Apart from this, grind fenugreek seeds. You can mix a teaspoon of fenugreek powder with a glass of warm water before going to bed.

Ghee

Cow’s milk ghee helps in improving metabolism. It helps the body maintain healthy fats, which are needed for the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamins A, D, E and K. A teaspoon of cow’s ghee with a glass of warm cow’s milk works great for people suffering from chronic constipation. However, people suffering from high blood pressure should not consume ghee.

Amalaki

Amalaki can solve various health problems. Eating Amlaki in empty stomach every morning will get great benefits. One teaspoon of amlaki powder or 3 fresh amlaki juice can be taken.

Raisin

Raisins are rich in fiber, which is very effective in curing constipation. But it is better to eat soaked raisins. Because eating dry food can cause gastric problems. They will be easily digested if eaten soaked in water.

  • Various vegetables are available in winter. Various vegetables including cauliflower, cabbage, gourd, eggplant, bean, tomato and radish. Also available are different types of vegetables, such as: red cabbage, spinach and radish etc. Apart from vitamins and minerals, these vegetables also contain sufficient amount of fiber, which helps us prevent constipation as well as heart disease, diabetes and rectal cancer.
  • To get rid of constipation in winter, you can boil cabbage and mix it with carrot, cucumber, coriander leaves, green pepper, olive oil and a little salt. Even a bit of cheese can be mixed in. And you must drink enough water every day. As water helps in many functions including your digestive system, it also helps in relieving constipation.
  • It is better not to consume more than 2 to 3 cups of tea or coffee a day.
