Delhi for the first time in the IPL final

For the first time in IPL history, Delhi Capitals reached the final. The team has eliminated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier. The four-time champions Mumbai Indians will face off in Tuesday’s final.

They beat Hyderabad by 18 runs on Sunday. Sunrisers Hyderabad were bowled out for 162 in 20 overs after Delhi set a target of 190 runs.

Delhi’s two openers won the toss and elected to bat. Stoinis and Dhawan’s bat hints at a big collection in Delhi. In the opening match, the two made 6 runs. Stones made 36 off 27 balls before being bowled by Rashid Khan. But at the other end, Dhawan kept the run wheel in motion. He made 6 runs off 50 balls and went back to this left-arm. Then captain Shreyas and Hetmeyer took the helm of the team. Shreyas scored 21 runs. Hetmeyer’s 22-ball 42-run cameo innings ended with a challenging 169 for three.

Hyderabad did not have a good start in answering. Captain David Warner went back to the beginning. He was bowled by Rabada for 2 runs. Then Manish Pandey and Priyam took the helm of the team. Delhi took the lead ahead of the two. However, another opener Priyam was cut for 18 runs. After that, Hyderabad went ahead with Williamson’s bat.

This Kiwi batsman kept on dreaming of victory by keeping one end closed. But he returned to the pavilion with a catch in Rabada’s hand for 67 runs. Then suddenly the rhythmic fall came down to the Hyderabad camp. Rabada magic begins. Although there was some hope in Abdul Samad’s bat, Rabada faded it. He scored 33 runs off just 18 balls and left with Rabada. Rabada then took two more wickets in that over. As a result, David Warner’s dream of victory ended.

In the end they had to stop for 172 runs in 20 overs. Rabada took 4 wickets for Delhi. And Stoinis took 3 wickets. Stones won the Man of the Match award for his excellent performance with the bat.
