Ambarella fruit is very nutritious and delicious to eat. The taste of raw, ripe and cooked Ambarella is quite different. Many people do not like to eat raw Ambarella because of its sour taste in that case they can taste cooking Ambarella. Many people like to eat cooked Ambarella with rice. The taste of this Ambarella curry is sweet, sour and spicy. The recipe has shared below-
Cooking ingredients-
1. 8 to 10 raw Ambarella
2. 4 Sliced garlic
3. 2 sliced onion
4. 5 dried pepper
5. Adequate amount of Turmeric
6. Adequate amount of Panch phoron
7. Adequate amount of Salt
8. Adequate amount of Cooking Oil
9. Adequate amount of Sugar
How to cook Ambarella curry –
1. Do not peel off the Ambarella. Just do scratching on the skin of Ambarella to remove outer very green layer and blackish spots. If you want to cook Ambarella as a whole then cut different places of Ambarella carefully so that spices can enter inside. If you do not want to cook as a whole, then you can slice it.
2. Wash Ambarella very well, add little turmeric, sufficient amount of salt and water. Now put it on stove and wait until it becomes boiled. Do not dry out completely. Make sure that you are not throwing out the water even after boiling. Turn off the stove when boiling is done.
3. Now fry onion and garlic with cooking oil on stove. When half frying is done, add Panch phoron and dry chilies into it. If you want, you can give green chili instead of dried chilies. Stir for few minutes and pour boiled Ambarella with water into it. Cook the mixture for 5 minutes.
4. Now add adequate amount of sugar into it. And again cook for five minutes.
5. By adding more water during boiling you can eat it as soup also.
