Vegetarian diet can break the bones of the body!

The type and type of food we eat depends on a number of factors. Associated with it are personal likes and dislikes. Some are vegetarians, some are carnivores. Many again believe in the combination of these two. However, a study has come up with this which was unknown to many of us. People who eat 100% vegetarian food have more bone problems and are more likely to break bones.

Team of doctors diagnose human bone

The study was conducted jointly by the University of Oxford and Bristol. For this, they conducted a survey on about 55,000 people. Without going into the depths of the study, it is easy to see that those who only eat vegetarian food are deficient in many things. As a result, their bones become brittle. However, in this case long observation is required.

For 17 long years, therefore, this study looked at how vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets are affecting the body. It has been observed that those who eat vegetarian food and those who do not eat any animal food have more fractures or cracks in the wrists, hips, ankles, legs etc. Dr Tammy Tong, a nutritional epidemiologist at Oxford University’s Nuffield Department of Population Health, said the reason was a lack of calcium and protein. Vegans in particular have so little of these two elements in their bodies that they are much more likely to break bones.

However, this study has caused complications. Researchers do not understand which fractures fell and which were caused by an accident. Not to mention one more thing – the whole study has been done on white Europeans. Therefore, in the case of other nations, the concentration of minerals present in the bones and the tendency to break bones is not understood. So many have suggested that this study should come to a conclusion based on different regions and ethnicities and by gender.
