The Barcelona’s captain is winning the European Golden Shoe for the sixth time in his career. He has won the European golden shoe in last two season 2016-17, 2017-18 where he is retaining his win record in this season 2018-19 too. Messi also won the Golden Shoe in 2009-10, 2011-12 and 2012-13 season.

This season, he has 36 goals in his record in LaLiga Santander in 34 games. He is the second oldest player who win the award with an age of 31 years, 11 months and 25 days. In 1990, Hugo Sanchez won the prize when he was a month and a day older than Messi.

Last year, Messi broken the record of four-time winner Cristiano by winning the European Golden Shoe on five occasions. And he has now awarded again as a sixth time winner.

Messi is not much joyful despite the achievement because of Barcelona’s loosing is Champions League semifinal with Liverpool. He is also concerned about the Copa del Rey final with Valencia on this Saturday.
